Women of Note A luncheon to induct African American women that have made outstanding contributions to the community. This year the Women of Note Induction Luncheon was held April 25th, 2009 starting 12 noon at the Capital City Club in downtown Raleigh, NC. Bang No More! (A Dramatic Stage Play Written and Directed By Randie Forne)/ Presented by AACC & HOUSE Theatre Group
A teen joins a street gang only to find that everything has it's price when
something goes horribly wrong. The story entertains, teaches and
brings hard-core awareness to street gang and street gang violence.
This play is rich with humor, action, spirituality and education, all of
which brings this story climatic, profound and awakening conclusion!

REFLECTIONS: The Amistad Saga The Amistad was the first civil rights case in America. The Amistad case tested the American judicial system of appeals and demonstrates the fundamental of the judiciary process. Seasonally, an outdoor Drama is presented to tell the story of the Amistad, and for tourists to view the mutiny scene of Cinque and the African Hostages. This year the Amistad production is put on hold due to repairs of the AACC outdoor amphitheatre. For more detailed information regarding The Amistad Saga production, see Amistad page.

African American Commemorative Banquet A themed banquet, honoring individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the African American community.
Independence Festival An outdoor festival and ceremony where the community can experience culturally enriching performances by local talent, shop vendor displays, and tour the museum. The Independence Festival is held in June.
Induction Ceremony for the "Hall of Fame (Distinction)" Ceremony to honor and induct outstanding African Americans into the AACC Hall of Fame (Distinction). And an opportunity for the community to meet these outstanding individuals and enjoy wonderful entertainment in a beautiful outdoor setting at the AACC Amphitheater.
